If your plans aren't working, revise them. When you discover a plan that works really well, duplicate it, clone it, replicate it!
If you have a Bricks and Mortar business, there is one list that is the most important list in your business. That is your present and past customers. Be sure and get their names and addresses. Ask them if you can email them with announcements, special events, new products, sales events.
I suggest you have them tick a box that says something like "I give my permission for ___to email me with news of ___(if you have them fill out a card or piece of paper). Also, don't forget to get their email address.
If you have a website, have a box on the first page where they can opt-in to get either a newsletter/ezine subscription or announcements, special events, new products, sales, etc. Better yet, have the box on every page.
Don't forget your past customers! I have purchased many, many items on the internet, and have only heard from a mere handful of the vendors. They never send an email to ask how I like my product, or have new products for me to purchase, or anything like that. I am just forgotten by them, so when I do want to purchase something else, I have to find a source all over again.
