Do you have a service or product? Can you write an article about that service or product? How about a series of articles?

These are selling mostly products, some ebooks, some hardcopy books, and some videos.

Besides giving valuable information, they each promote a product or products that are for sale. Yep, I have all of the gardening products, including ebooks, videos, and gardening supplies designed to help me propagate plants.

What is your product or service? Do a search on http://www.google.com or http://www.dogpile.com

Can you spot a need for information that you can provide? Check out a few of the websites that are selling the same thing as you. Can you spot something that you are offering that is missing from your competitors site?

If you are not comfortable writing an article, then just do it in outline form like so:

1. Here is the information on the use of autoresponders

2. Find a good free autoresponder site. Check out at least two and compare.

3. Sign up for free. They will usually have an ad at the top of the response, but not all have this.

4. Try your hand at writing an article or course or outline

5. Name the article or course. How about "5 Days to a Better Lawn" or "Secrets of Sponge Painting".

6. Try writing every day. You will be amazed at the amount you can accomplish.

7. Put what you have written aside for a few days, but if you think of anything else, keep a pad handy for writing down your thoughts.

8. Get out those articles and re-write them, polish them, spell-check them. Make sure everything is written clearly. Keep plenty of white space in your articles.

9. Put a hint of your sales pitch in the middle of the article. Then put more details at the end. If you are writing a series, just take it gradually. If you have only the one article, put in the full pitch. Be sure that what you are selling is pertinent to the article or course.

10. Load each one onto the free autoresponder website. Set your frequencies (how often you want to send one of the letters, and sequences (seguential-one after the other).

11. Get out your list of prospects, old customers, new customers, safe-lists, or list it on your website.


Try your hand at writing a press release for your local paper, offering your article or series of articles for free or for a self-addressed, stamped envelope. Or a phone call. Or a fax number. Don't forget to make your press release content rich. In other words, tell what you are going to tell them in your articles, (but don't tell everything).

How about sending your series of articles to the newspaper. Tell them they can have them free, if they put your bio at the end of the article.
